Tips for Moving Out of California 2019
We’re seeing the trend of people leaving California, and I wanted to share a few things that I’ve seen from my side. In the last few years, I’ve helped quite a few people sell their homes to move to a different state. Many people are moving to common places such as Tennessee, Arizona, Texas, and Idaho.
It appears that the rate of people moving out of state is happening more rapidly than in the past. At the same time, we’re also seeing buyers come in to purchase the available homes. It seems that long-term residents are looking for a change, possibly looking for more affordable housing and to start a family.
Tips for Moving Out of California
If you are someone who is preparing to leave the state of California for any reason, here are a few tips to help if you are looking at homes or neighborhoods online:
- School Districts: Even if you don’t have kids, school districts are very important. For example, school districts that are strongly rated are usually surrounding by good neighborhoods with appreciating values.
- Crime Stats: Look on the FBI’s website to see crime stats and other information about the safety of the area. These details can be helpful when choosing an area if you are unfamiliar with the state.
- Moving Expenses: Moving costs can add up, so it’s best to get a handle on your moving expenses sooner rather than later. My clients moving out of state are often surprised at the cost of moving their household to the final destination.
These three factors can affect the success of your move and help you find the right answers to support the needs of your family.
