Real Estate Updates: Inventory During COVID-19
Filed under: Real Estate Market
I’m sharing a bi-monthly update to help you know about the things that are happening in the real estate industry during these uncertain times. Many people are curious about how the real estate market is affected by COVID-19, so I’m working hard to keep you updated as the situation changes.
California Association of Realtors Guidelines
We are still in COVID-19 circumstances, which means that my staff is working from their homes. We’re meeting remotely via Zoom. I’ve been showing properties under the California Association of Realtors guidelines, which includes:
- Masks
- Gloves
- Booties
- Social Distancing
Business is still moving forward. We are being careful to protect your health and safety at all times.
Supply and Demand in Real Estate
We actually have a strange phenomenon going on right now. It’s a classic supply-and-demand situation. There aren’t that many people listing their homes, probably because they are a little nervous about the uncertainty of the current situation.
We have more than enough buyers for the current supply. So, we are seeing homes hit the market and get multiple offers. In fact, bidding wars have been happening – which is interesting because we are in a forced (but temporary) economic downturn, so it’s a bit counter-intuitive.
That’s what’s going on right now. We don’t know where things are heading. But, for the time being, we can say that there is a bit of a supply-and-demand issue. Inventory remains low, and those homes that are priced well are moving.
