Sometimes it’s easy to think that by adding features or cosmetic changes to your home, you’ll increase the value by the same amount of money that you spend on the upgrade.
For instance, if you spend $4000 adding a built-in barbeque to your patio, will it increase your home’s value by $4000?
Some upgrades definitely improve your value by as much or even more than your investment. Others, however, may not yield the same dollar-for-dollar increase in home value.
